Living God, the day begins at sixes and
sevens, bits and pieces, one-thing-after-another. Before we start this day, help
us to contemplate your constant presence besides us. With your help let us be
able to bring a few more pieces of this world and our brothers and sisters
closer to you. Amen.
Opening Song 'Hosea' ~

Examination of Conscience
· Do I love my neighbour without laying down conditions for my love?
· Do I put faithful attention into my spiritual life?
· Are my relationships right in community, and with people in general?
· Do I make an option with the marginalized and am I compassionate towards
others?
· Do I open myself to others?
· Am I open to change and listening for God no matter what it might mean?
· Do I put the Word of God into practice each day in my life?
· Do I strive to live at peace with others?
· Does failure worry me, or do I see it as a possible step towards a new
beginning?
Reading: John 8: 1-11
While Jesus went to the Mount of Olives ...
But early in the morning he arrived again in the temple area, and all the people
started coming to him, and he sat down and taught them ...
Response: Does this reading shed any light on the reconciliation process?
Act of Sorrow:
LORD, I N._____________, the one you love is in need. Let me express in this
prayer my utmost sorrow for any action or inaction of mine that may have caused
hurt to a brother or sister. Together we join as one body in asking you to
transform us once again, and bring us all to the fullness of your healing
presence among us this morning. Amen.
Symbolic Gesture
As each member of the community prays the above act of sorrow, the rest extend
their right hand out towards the one who needs healing.
Blessing Prayer For Healing (Joyce Rupp)
May I desire to be
healed.
May what is
wounded in my life be restored to good health.
May I be receptive to the ways in
which you, Lord, need to shape me.
May I extend compassion to all that
hurts my mind and spirit.
May I be patient with the time it
takes to heal my soul.
May I be open to receive from those
who extend kindness, care and compassion to me.
May
I be able to rest peacefully under your sheltering wings of divine love,
trusting in your gracious presence.
May I keep hope in my heart in the
days of struggle.
May I find little moments of wonder,
beauty and joy to sustain me.

Closing Prayer:
God of love, teach me to be generous, to give and not to count the cost, to
strive and not to heed the wounds, to labour and not to ask for rest, to toil
and not to seek reward, except knowing that I do your will. Amen.
