LORD,
thank you for the gift
of the time of my life.
HELP me to be alive today,
listening, laughing, loving,
crying for others who die suddenly,
subtly challenging those
who are killing themselves slowly
because of laziness or stupidity.
HELP me to continue this day
with a prayer of awareness:
that this day is one more opportunity
to create a better day and a better world
for every person that I meet or serve this day.
HELP me to live this day with
a sense of humor, joy, celebration,
work and play, music and dance,
fascinated with this gift of the time of my life.
HELP me to walk this day knowing
that you are also walking with each of us
today and every day of our life
even to the end of time.
