Formators' meeting in Lusaka
The Tent of Abraham

It was a great pleasure to have been given the opportunity to attend the Formators meeting in Lusaka. The whole meeting changed my insights about formation. It came to my attention that there is a lot that comes from the brothers in trying to have good formation programmes for our brothers. An important word that was constantly used was mediator. As formators, we act as mediators in the whole process of formation. Our whole approach has to be different. We need to consider those in formation as adults, given their age of joining, and respect them as such. That factor was really important as l saw it having an impact to my ongoing formation.

The other good thing that came out of the meeting was that, we the young brothers who are involved in formation were also given a chance to share our own experiences of being in formation as well as being involved in formation.

The whole aspect of ministry was emphasised especially working with the poor, like here in Africa the whole HIV/AIDS pandemic. It was emphasised that the whole immersion of working with the poor shouldn't be left only to those in formation, but also should include the formators. It has to be an experience for everybody.

We all left Lusaka being fired by the experience of being loved by a compassionate God.
